The ROG STRIX B650E-I GAMING WIFI is equipped with the B650E chipset for AMD’s Ryzen 7000/8000/9000 processors and offers numerous features for overclockers and gamers. Since the Ryzen 7000 series processors require a new socket due to PCIe 5.0 support and enhanced power delivery, the 600-series motherboards use the AM5 socket (LGA 1718).
Despite the higher pin count of AM5, the actual size of the socket remains identical to the previous generation, meaning that most AM4 socket CPU coolers can also be mounted on this motherboard.
